Manchester United are reported to have identified Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams as an option to strengthen their midfield this summer, with the club considering a lower-cost addition alongside other recruitment plans.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, which cites CaughtOffside, United have listed the 27-year-old United States international as a genuine option for the transfer window. The report says United are planning to strengthen in midfield following Casemiro’s confirmed departure from Old Trafford.

United are also reported to have drawn up a shortlist featuring Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Sandro Tonali and Carlos Baleba. With the club also looking at a central defender, a left-back and potentially another striker, the report suggests a second midfield addition could need to come at a lower price.

Bournemouth’s reported asking price for Adams

TEAMtalk’s report says Bournemouth could be open to selling Adams and that offers in the region of £30 million could be considered. It also states that Liverpool and Chelsea could provide competition for his signature.

The same report says United’s pursuit of Anderson has become more difficult, with the Nottingham Forest midfielder reportedly valued at more than £90 million and Manchester City also interested. United have not yet decided which of Anderson, Wharton and Baleba they wish to pursue most strongly, according to the report.
