Manchester United have had an offer for Inter Milan’s highly rated 20-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito rejected by the Serie A club, according to reports in Italy.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Inter have turned down requests from both United and Atalanta for the promising striker. Inter have no plans to sell Esposito and view him as an important part of their long-term plans.
United have been long-term admirers of the Italian forward and had an initial offer rejected during the January transfer window.
Inter retain faith in EspositoEsposito spent the past two seasons on loan at Spezia in Serie B, scoring 22 goals in 79 appearances. He has also scored seven goals in 11 appearances for Italy Under-21s.
Back at Inter, Esposito is set to be part of the first-team squad for the 2025-26 season. He scored his first senior goal for the club in the 2-0 Club World Cup win over River Plate.
Inter also rejected an Atalanta proposal to include Esposito in negotiations for Ademola Lookman. The club’s position on the striker means a move to Manchester United is not expected.
